6月5日　6日間のキャンプ初日。
ベースキャンプ地はアドミラルティー島
ジュノーから水上飛行機で20分。テントだの食料だの荷物を全部載せてレッツゴー！

June 5th. The first day of teacher's training camp.
Our base campsite was in Admiralty island.
The island is 20 minutes from Juneau by float plane.


このキャンプのメンバーは、講師のジョン、そのサポートとして地元のガイド歴27年ジュディ、地元ジュノー生まれのマシュマロ大好きアリソンとバービー人形みたいだけど精神面は誰よりも強いアラスカのサーファー英語教師エリス、アラスカ州の先住民族が暮らす町マトナカトラから来たスーパー優しい化学教師で新婚のブロック、コロラド州から来た小学校教師のフィールド講座おたくキャロライン、ドイツ語堪能同じくモンタナから来たケリー、元教師で今はライターをしているアラスカ在住20数年のニック、そして日本からなぞのネイチャーガイドの私、、全部で９名

The member of this camp are John, the instructor, Judy, a naturalist guide, Alison and Elise, teachers in Juneau, Block, middle school science teacher, Carolyn and Cary teachers from colorado, Nick who is a writer in Juneau and me.
All of them are friendly and kind.

みんなおもしろい人たち！　7割はアラスカン。 当然全員アメリカ人。

まずはテント設置。2人用。わたしのテントメイトはドイツ語堪能ケリー。
First of all, we set up tents. My tent mate was Cary.

このテントで6日間過ごした。針葉樹の下のテントは雨も防ぐし寝心地もフワフワ。
I spent 5 nights in this tent. It is under the Sitka spruce trees. The bedding area was soft and comfy.


今回、人生最高の洋式野外トイレを経験！
ちゃんと便座を用意してくれていました。（ジョンが持っている緑色のが様式便座）
場所は滝のすぐそば。滝の音を聞きながら、木々の隙間から海が見えて、、なんと最高なトイレだったことか。これは一生忘れない。　
This was a lifetime experience bathroom!
The green toilet seet is the one. It was by the waterfall, so you can enjoy the sound of water and the view of the ocean from the seat.
It was the vest bathroom I ever had. I will never forget it.

そんなこんなで、やっとこのダイアリー、キャンプが始まりましたとさ。
