　「でかいから潰れない」と言われていた金融機関が次から次へと破綻して倒産しております。世界はあの大恐慌以来の混乱を経験しているらしい。紙切れのために紙切れで紙切れを買うゼニの亡者の成れの果てですな、これは。

　結局、虚業とは虚しいものなのです。

BRICs are slowly crumbling.

Those arrogant upstarts are stumbling.
I hope that they find the experience quite humbling.

I am not audacious enough to state that
the next big thing is Japan.
Japan will not conquer the seven seas.
The island nation is not that sublime.
However, it will stay moderately prominent for a long time.
It is not a hot flash in the pan.
Now is the moment to seize.

　BRICsのBとCが脆弱性を露呈しています。このBRICs、もとから騒がれているほどのものではないと私は見ています。「でかければいい」と言う発想が、正直原始的で時代遅れに感じられます。

　「実は、今こそ日本」

　そう思っているのは、私だけかも。
　別に私は日本びいきでもありません。日本には問題点が多いですし、日本がそんなに素晴らしい国だとも思っていません。ただ、他の数多くのゴク潰し国家(もどき)よりかはずっとましだと言えるのでは。
　比較の問題かな。
　海外育ちの私から見れば、嫌になる部分も結構ありますが、いいところもあります。

そんなうまい話があるわけないでしょう。
　中身のある人は、いつの時代でも輝いています。
自分の現状を環境や時代のせいにしないで、
自分を磨く努力をすることをおすすめします。
