USA may be dethroned as the primary spacefaring nation, when it comes to owning and operating the gigantic space station. I can sense the Americans' frustration.

We are bound to expect quite a lot out of the next-generation manned spacecraft named Constellation. It may serve as the agent of salvation.

I wonder if we will ever witness the next celebration.

　Space Shuttleの老朽化そして引退にともない、2010年からNASAは有人宇宙飛行を某国に委託しなくてはならないらしい。これって、かなり米国人のプライドをえぐらないか？ここまで堕ちたか。

　NASAの次世代有人宇宙船であるConstellationに期待するしかないのかな？ここで日本が協力すればいいのだが。

My backup machine is somewhat equivalent to Dr. Frankenstein's freak. It is unleashing the unpleasant shriek. This is where I employ my technique.

　我が予備マシーンは、メインマシーンと同様にジャンク部品の寄せ集めからできています。予備が必要となりつつある今になって、限界に達しています。
　なんとか復活させたいですな。（素直に新品を買えばいいのに。）

She is hopelessly ugly. I do not think that neither her ugly dog nor the five clones are in the environment that can be considered very snugly.

I do not think that any sane human being would use the name Booger for the dog that is already at least as ugly as the owner. I am almost certainly sure that the dog would much rather be a loner.

Dog? Which dog? That dog!

I think that to mass-produce clones for the unholy purposes is profane. The very thought of trying to compensate for the dead creatures with the clone technology is downright insane.

　あれほどに美しさから遠くかけ離れた人間を、私は見たことがない。ここまでくると、霊長類の株価を下げますね。

　自分の犬にBooger(ハ○○ソ)なんて名前を付けるとは、どういうことか。ましてやそれをクローンで大量生産するなんざ、生命への冒涜もいいところだ。

　監禁の犯罪歴もあるし。「ああ、やっぱり」と言いたくなります。

Finally, my main (G4) machine is fully recovered. It is now the time for me to appreciate my IT skill that I have rediscovered.

I want to scream "Can you dig dat, suckaaah!!" to those who have not given me enough credit. This world is not what you can easily edit.

　我が愛機PowerMac G4が完全に復活しました。時間はかかりましたが、私にもITスキルがあるのです。そう、これは新たな再発見。（あれ？）
　この件に限ったことではないのですが、この私の能力を否定し続けてきた輩ども（多数）に向かって一言叫びたい。

　「どうだっ、参ったかああっ！」

That defective HDD (which I thought was generic) turns out to be a Barracuda! It has consumed my precious time like the snake-eating (dragon-devouring) mystic bird named Garuda.

　暴走していたHDDが実を言えば信頼性の高いBarracudaであることが判明。たまにはそういうこともあるさ。
　それにしても、今まで、よくもまあ、蛇や竜をも喰らうGaruda(迦楼羅・かるら)のごとく、私の貴重な時間を喰い荒らしてくれたのう。
　まあいいさ。それくらい、取り戻して取り返してみせるさ。時間は私が製作するものなのであるから。（一日24時間の制約はあるけどね。）

Before I soup up my main (G4) machine, I want to prepare the backup (substitute) (G3) machine. While keeping the system profiles lean, I will add necessary applications. I will keep the outer skins clean.

The coming weekend will confine me to a closed room. I will battle my internal somber gloom. This is rather obscene.

I need to receive no congratulations. The only rewards that I will get are two machines that are just downright mean.

　今週末には本命マシーン(G4)の改造を終わらせたいのですが、その前にサブマシーン(G3)の改造ですね。
　また引きこもりかよ？こんなことばかりしているから、私は社会から孤立してしまうのだ。

The current environment is not as stressful.

Even though I am not quite in full swing, I can still fly high with only one wing.

Two Barracuda HDD's are waiting on deck. I hope they will rescue me from this IT wreck.

　寄せ集めのパーツで、片肺飛行です。バルク品のHDDで何とかやっております。少なくとも最悪の事態ではありません。
　来週末には職場で回収したBarracuda(20GB)を2台投入してみせる。

Just when I thought I saw the light, it was only the beginning of the persistent plight.

　修復完了！

　と思いきや、HDDが安物だったために、不正ブロックが消えない。職場からブランド付きのHDDを持って帰ってきたので、それに入れようと思うが、時間がない。
　来週末にしよう。それまで、この一応は動くHDDが持ってくれればいいのだが。一病息災で行くぞ！
