PERU 12 <Cuzco> -English- ペルー2007/PERU
Apr. 10, 2007 (Tue)
I took it easy all day because I still couldn’t have gotten rid of my cold. I just went to the internet café in the neighborhood, took a nice nap, and relaxed… Then, at night, Karl and I went to the city center to see the dance show, which is held every night, but somehow it was canceled only this night… We were pretty disappointed… :- ( Well, what else could we do then? Of course, we went drinking!! ;-p We went to our favorite café/bar, and had a bottle of Peruvian red wine (nice, dry one) Then, we went a restaurant to drink more wine and beer… :- ) Each of us had been a little ill from a cold, but we agreed that “Wine is the best medicine for it!!” ;-P Then, we got home at around midnight. It’s always nice for me to meet new people and become friends (regardless of the nationality, gender, or age), and enjoy drinking together. I just love it! ;-)

My last day in Cuzco… Well, the medicine (wine) I had the previous night put me in a deep sleep/ a good rest, so the pain in my whole body joints and dizziness were completely away! :- ) But still my nose was running, so I took cold medicine (the real one :-P) just in case, then went out to the city center. I visited the Santa Catalina Museum, which has a collection of Catholic paintings. The museum was small, and I couldn’t find any paintings that interested me… Then, I went to the Regional History Museum. In here, as well as the previous one, there were not many things to see either. :- (

Just outside of the museum, I noticed that something was going on. There were noises and people everywhere. Soon I joined in the crowd to see what was happening. It was a big parade of dance groups from several regions of the country. One after another, groups of dancers, dressed in their colorful traditional costumes, show their performances on the street toward the main Plaza. I took lots of pictures of the dancers, and enjoyed the festival for about 2 hours. Each group/ region had its unique way of dance and dresses. I felt very lucky to have a chance to see those cool dances on my last day in
Cuzco. ;- )

Later, I went home for lunch and some break. Then, again I went out to the art crafts market for souvenir shopping! I bought some alpaca wool sweaters, hats, scarves, etc…, and got home at 18:00. I was pretty tired by then… :- ) But I had to start packing for the next day! My almost empty and light backpack soon got really full with the clothing and beer. :- P
Everyone got together in the dining room to have some coffee and chat at around 19:00. After coffee, we moved on to beer & wine, then light dinner. :- ) We talked and talked till 22:00, and we all went back to each room. I was already sleeping an hour later…
